WHAT IS DERMAL FILLER?
(Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra etc)
Dermal filler is an injectable substance used to correct small defects in the skin and add volume to skin creases, cheeks, lips and other areas. Volume loss plays an important role in the ageing process and affects all areas of the face. Many of these changes can be reversed using filler materials. Dermal fillers can also be used to enhance lips and camouflages scars. The choice of filler recommended for use depends on what area is to be treated.
AM I A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?

HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED?
This is an outpatient procedure and takes 15-30 minutes to perform. Fillers are injected using very fine needles in exact location where the affects are desired. The amount of filler used depends on the correction/augmentation required.
POSSIBLE AFTER EFFECTS OF FILLERS
Adverse effects are rare. Bruising is the most common consequence and occurs when small blood vessels are punctured during injection. This usually settles within a few days and may be easily concealed with make up. Slight swelling at the injection site is common and settles with twenty four hours. Occasional itching and redness can also occur. Any serious risks such as persistent lumpiness or infection are extremely rare. The complications are related to the type of filler used.
