Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing involves use of carbon dioxide laser in a pixalated mode to achieve skin tightening and improve the quality of skin.
Am I a Candidate?
If wrinkles and age related skin changes are related to the superficial layers of the skin, laser generally tends to give extremely good results.
The Procedure
Laser treatment is performed under local anaesthetic cover. Following treatment, the treated area is covered with moist cream. The procedure is performed as an outpatient procedure.
After Effects
Mild redness, pain and burning are expected immediately after laser treatment, followed by scaling and peeling. Redness that occurs after laser usually settles in a few days. Scabbing may occur occasionally but scarring is extremely rare when the laser is used appropriately. A sun free (sun bathing) period of six weeks before and after laser treatment is strongly recommended.
